Early One Morning
Sunshine Coast, BC. This coyote was heading back to her/his den early one morning. To avoid humans many Coyotes are most active at dawn and dusk. This also gives them the best chance of finding rodents, their preferred prey.

Zebra Striped Sky
Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. These zebra are standing alert as night falls over the savannah. Just visible are faint cloud ripples starting to form in the sky. These ripples sometimes happen when warm winds flow out from a distant thunderstorm.

Getting to Know You
Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. This male and female giraffe were getting to know each other. If she likes him enough and they mate, giraffe gestation is up to 15 months.

Ready for the Rut
Sunshine Coast, BC. From the size of his antlers I would say this Black Tailed Deer male is more than ready to compete for females in the Fall rut
Hudson Bay, MB. Some Siksiks or Arctic Ground Squirrels live in such a harsh climate that they must hibernate for 7 months each year
Schmok Lake, MB. This Barren-ground caribou bull pauses on a ridge during his fall migration south to escape the brutally cold northern winters
Schmok Lake, MB. This Barren-ground Bull Caribou of the Qamanirjuaq herd is just losing the last velvet from his antlers and will soon be ready for the fast approaching Fall rut.
